 Audiometric Testing

Standard Audiometric
Testing Program

This program is designed to provide clients with our basic services of audiometric testing and employee training. Based on testing 8 to 10 employees every 20 minutes, 192 to 240 employees can be tested per day.

Employee Testing Notification Training (TNT) Program

This program is designed to assist clients with more immediate and complete OSHA compliance. In addition to audiometric testing and employee training, notification letters are issued to employees at time of testing. For those employees experiencing a Standard Threshold Shift, the required followup counseling will be provided. Based on testing 8 employees every 30 minutes/up to 128 employees can be tested per day.

HCI Unique Employee Identification Numbers

HCI assigns each employee a unique, never to be reused, HCI employee identification number. This enables HCI to maintain the integrity of the employee’s test records stored within our system without requiring the employer to provide the employee’s SSN. This innovative new option allows our clients the flexibility to determine the best numbering system for them. They may continue to use SSN, supply a company assigned employee ID number, or use the HCI assigned employee identification number. Whichever option you choose, your historical database remains uncompromised.

 Respiratory Testing

Pulmonary Screening

HCI's NIOSH/OSHA trained technicians perform the pulmonary screening and leave the results with your facility for review by your company physician. HCI will perform no analysis of these results.

Pulmonary Screening and Analysis Including Respirator Medical Clearance (PFT)

HCI's trained technicians perform screenings and HCI's physician provides analysis and respirator medical clearance for those employees that need this clearance to perform their assigned work duties while wearing a respirator per OSHA requirements.

PFT Data Analysis Only Including Respirator Medical Clearance

For screenings not conducted by HCI, HCI's physician provides analysis and respirator medical clearance only.

Respirator Fit Testing

Determination of an employee's ability to wear, and the effectiveness of the face piece of the respirator, while performing assigned duties.

 Vision Testing

Visual Acuity

Binocular, Right Eye, Left Eye:
The sharpness of each eye, both eyes, and the coordinated use of both eyes at near, intermediate and long ranges.

Depth Perception

The ability to distinguish the relative distance of objects in visual space.

Color Recognition

The ability to distinguish and recognize certain colors.

Far and Near Vision

Evaluation of vision in each and both eyes for a distance and as close as 14 to 16 inches.

Peripheral Vision

The ability to perceive objects outside of the direct line of vision.

 Data Management

Information is Power

Effective testing alone is simply not enough to protect against occupational hearing loss. Accurate, consistent and meticulous records, and timely reporting of tests and retests are the only way of truly ensuring the success of any hearing conservation program

Standardized Forms

HCI minimizes the potential for data entry error through the use of carefully designed, standardized forms in English and Spanish. These include:
The Medical History Form completed by each employee before testing;
Audiometric Record Form
Employee Notification Letters
STS Counseling Guide.
Extended Letter for Recordable Hearing Shifts

Internet Access

HCI’s Oracle database, residing on a secure server, gives customers the ability to access test data via the HCI website at www.hcihealth.com. This firewall-protected, SSL-Certified, password accessible capability enables HCI's customers to more quickly access their data - with complete confidence that this information is completely secure.
